Family Life
There are some favorite stuffed animals at our house. To our children, the stuffed animals have always been real, animate parts of our family and, therefore, constant companions. Our boys both adore the same little stuffed frog. They have dubbed him "Froggy," or in the case of my youngest son, "Oggy." Sometimes Froggy gets called "Ribbit" or "Ibbit" for short.
Recently, as my youngest has developed a small vocabulary, I've noticed him imparting his knowledge to Froggy. For instance, the other day he gave Froggy a tour of the kitchen, telling him about all the appliances. Froggy also received a very strict warning about not touching the "hot" oven. It was completely adorable.
On another day, I was doing dishes, and had absolutely no idea that Froggy was helping. How I missed it, I'll never know, but after running the load of dishes I opened the dishwasher to find this: a very soggy Froggy.
Perhaps (after hanging out with two boys for so long) he just needed a bath.
"Oggy," the soggy Froggy.
