Rustic Barn

A couple summers ago, on our annual trip to see grandparents, we took some snapshots by the barn on the ranch.  I finally found the perfect paper to make a scrapbook layout using Studio J online scrapbooking from Close To My Heart. 

I thought the rustic look of the barn made for a charming setting. We sat on a haybale and my husband wore his cowboy hat to complete the ranch look. It was a very windy day, and my daughter's hair was blowing straight up in some of the photos. We opened up the barn door to block the wind and that helped some. 

I thought the pictures turned out pretty well, given the circumstances, so I sent copies to the grandfolks.  My mother-in-law called up to say that she was totally dismayed by the "old wood" look of the barn in our photos, so much so that she promptly went out and painted it with a fresh coat of red paint!
