This wreath makes me laugh!  How can a wreath be so funny?  Watch and see....

How to create a Curly Wreath
Step 1:  Gather Supplies

Styrofoam Wreath
7 to 8 sheets of 12x12 patterned paper (double sided)
Paper Trimmer
Round pencil
Hot Glue Gun and Glue
A Movie (you'll need it!)

Step 2:  Cut Paper

You can cut 1/2 inch strips or 1 inch strips.  I would recommend making the strips 6 inches long.

Step 3:  Curl the Paper

Curl each strip of paper around a round pencil.  You can curl two or three papers at a time, but any more than that and it doesn't work very well.  Believe me, I tried.
At this point in the project you'll want to start the movie, because you are going to be curling paper for a long time...

Step 4:  Glue curls to wreath

Heat up the glue gun.  Decide if you want to have a random mix of curls, or if you want them in sections.  If you want to do them in sections, mark your Styrofoam wreath form.  6 or 8 sections work nicely, depending on how many different colored papers you have.

Glue down those curls!

Don't you just love the action shots here?

Step 5:  Watch it grow!

Okay, so this was the funny part.  Over a few minutes of time, the curls would start to relax and grow!  It was like watching a Chia Pet grow right before my very eyes!  This phenomenon had me laughing the entire time I was making this wreath!

Even the kids thought it was funny, and then they had to try it out!

Step 6:  Voila!  A wreath!

Maybe if I take another picture tomorrow, it will have grown even more!  I love my Chia-Wreath.
